NYSC: GOVERNOR OKOROCHA VOTES FOR UNITY IN THE COUNTRY

The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has called on the National Youth Service Corps members and Nigerian youths in general to join hands in building a more cohere and united Nigeria.

Governor Okorocha made this remark through his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere during the closing ceremony of the orientation course for the 2017 batch A stream I NYSC members at the National Youth Service Corps Orientation Camp, Eziama-Obaire, Nkwerre local government Area, Imo State.

He called on the corps members to use the opportunity given to them to preach oneness in brotherhood, saying their team playing spirit with disregard to ethnicity and religious bigotry will promote unity and integration in Nigeria.

Prince Madumere also stressed on the usefulness of skill acquisition, describing it as a veritable approach to reducing unemployment, poverty and youth restiveness.  “Skill acquisition engenders economic development since small and medium scale industries remain the driving force for economic development”; he enthused.

While praising the Management and staff of NYSC scheme in Imo State led by the State Coordinator, Mr. James Fashanu for their effort in managing the scheme in the State, he charged the corps members to use the opportunity given them to serve the fatherland patriotically and ensure the impact on the socio-economic well-being of the communities the find themselves.

He assured NYSC management of Owelle Rochas Okorocha led administration’s readiness to continue to assist the scheme to meet its set goal.

Earlier, the State Coordinator of NYSC scheme, Mr. Fashanu commended the State government for its consistent effort in ensuring the scheme is up and doing through its support and various interventions. 

He assured of the schemes preparedness to continue to meet the set objectives of the programme, which will contribute immensely to the national unity and development.
