Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has called on Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of endurance describing it as a virtue every forward looking citizen must possess.
Prince Madumere made the call yesterday while addressing the congregation in the Chapel of Praise, Anglican Communion, Church of Nigeria at Lake Malinda, Achi-Mbeire, Mbaitoli local government of Imo State.
The Deputy Governor who read the first lesson from the book of James chapter 1 : 2 to 19, spoke about the importance of endurance in times of trials and temptations. Explaining the portion of the bible, Prince Madumere said; "God never said there will be no tribulations but what matters is our endurance to hold on in times of trials. When we seek, we must have the patience for the answer. Endurance or perseverance is a virtue, with which faith and maturity of mind are tested. Today, Nigeria is under doing a turbulent time, all of a sudden we have all lost faith. Truly, those who engage themselves in productive vocation with faith and endurance will surely have the last laugh. Those who lack the virtue of endurance either end up in crime and other anti-social behaviours, which may bring them to ruin. I therefore called on Nigerians to be patriotic by taking part in programmes that will uplift our country."
The number two citizen of Imo State also posited that hard times may not always be considered as bad since it creates room for creativity thereby engendering growth and development.
He therefore called on all Nigerians to pray for spirit of endurance while showing innovativeness and consistency whatever their hands find them doing.
