ISU CLAN FETES OKOROCHA, MADUMERE ON DEVELOPMENT STRIDES ... AS THEY HONOUR MADUMERE AS "ENYIOHA OF ISU CLAN"

The Traditional Rulers and  people of Isu Clan have commended the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for his monumental achievements since the inception of Rescue Mission Government.

The people of Isu made these commendations yesterday during the 'Launch of Maiden Royal Almanac' organised by Isu Council of Traditional Rulers led by HRH, Eze Edwin Orisakwe, which held at Isu Local Government Headquaters, Umundugba, Isu Local government area of Imo State.

During  Chairman's remark, Chief Cosmas Maduba expressed excitement for the gathering, which has 'who is who' in Isu clan in attendance, describing it as unifying and progressive.

IMO GOVERNMENT REITERATES INTEREST TO DEVELOP GOLF IN IMO ... AS MADUMERE TEES-OFF GOLF TOURNEY IN IMO


Imo State government has reiterated  its resolve to promote Golf as a sporting  event for youth in the State.

Deputy governor of Imo State,  Prince Eze Madumere stated this while fielding questions from the newsmen shortly after performing the tee-off of first ever Four Clubs Caddies between the age of 12 and 25 organised  by West African Golf Tour Academy at Arsenal Golf Course Obinze Owerri west, Imo State.

Prince Madumere described Golf as one of the sporting activities that has not been given the needed promotion In the State, promising on behalf of the governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha to bring back the past glory of the game.

"Golf is one of the sports that has not really been promoted, it needs to be showcased more in Imo State and Nigeria at large. Although we have Oguta golf course, Arsenal golf course and other wonderful places one can easily come down and play. Some people look the other way because of the wrong impression that golf is an elitist sports. I disagree. What I feel is the problem is because people do not get to see people who play golf around them like other sports. It takes one to influence another. I therefore urge golfers around others to also help to encourage youngsters by talking to them about golf."

Speaking generally on sports development in the State, he  said the State appreciates the importance of sports in relation to its role as a career line and taking kids off the street. He averred that  the Government is doing a lot in sports development especially at the foundation level, which he described as strategic.

IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR TASKS APC YOUTH LEADERS ON DISSEMINATION OF GOVERNMENT ACHIEVEMENTS ... URGES THEM TO EMBRACE NEW ENTRANTS

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has called on All Progressives Congress Youth leaders to join hands in spreading the good news of Rescue Mission Government in their various local governments.

Imo Deputy Governor gave this charge yesterday when he played host to the youth leaders of All Progressives Congress Party from twenty seven local government areas of Imo State who paid him a courtesy visit at his official residence.

He charged the youth leaders led by the APC State Youth leader, Hon. Bartholomew Akubueze to be open to embrace the  new entrants into the party as the party membership registration exercise  has been extended by two weeks.

He assured them of Governor Okorocha's preparedness to empower them, which he said has begun in earnest, assuring them they will not be left out in the scheme of things. He reminded them of Governor Okorocha's recent empowerment of over 3500 women penultimate week, adding that the youth will be get their fare share of Governor's magnanimity.

Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation, Hon. Bartholomew Akubueze who spoke on behalf of the youth leaders, commended Prince Madumere for his exemplary leadership especially his humility, loyalty and support to Governor Okorocha.

He described the relationship between Governor Okorocha and his Deputy, Prince Madumere as cordial, progressive and worthy of emulation.

He also appeal for procurement of vehicle for the Youth leaders for easy movement and for rapid response in times of emergency as he pointed out other areas of need, which the Deputy Governor promised to report to Governor Okorocha

IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR WARNS NIGERIANS AGAINST DANGERS OF COMPLACENCY

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has warned Nigerians against the dangers of getting comfortably used to any situation they find themselves, describing such as dangerous and retrogressive.
Prince Madumere handed down this warning earlier today while speaking to the congregation of Chapel of Praise during a Special Mothers' Day Church service at his country home, Lake Malinda, Achi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.
Prince Madumere charged the congregation to discountenance the idea of settling for anything, adding that such complacency has brought so many people to ruin. He averred that most great men have had to refuse to be stopped by their challenges as they defied such trials to move ahead.
Drawing home his point with the story of Jabez, he preached against the notion of believing that bad situation is a function of destiny, saying that one's destiny is a function of what the person says it is since God has given man freedom of choice.
He therefore admonished Nigerians to be positive and aim for the skies with hard work, determinations and prayers.

IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR CELEBRATES MOTHERS ON MOTHERS’ DAY

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere congratulates the Wife of Imo State, Ugo Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, other Nigerian Mothers as Christians of Anglican and Catholic faiths all over the world simultaneously celebrate Mothers' Day on Sunday, March 26, 2017.

In a press release signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Uche Onwuchekwa, Prince Madumere while congratulating mothers reminds them of their important role in Nation Building.

Speaking further, he describes Mothers as major partners in determining the quality of citizens in terms of moral standing any nation produces, saying that Mothers’ roles in character-molding of the children are unequal.

He therefore charged Mothers to be deep in the knowledge of God’s Words and Will since it will influence what they teach the children, adding that it is usually difficult for children to deviate from the way they have been trained even when they grow old.

According to the release, Prince Madumere also called on husbands to love their wives and consider them as strategic partners towards reaching their goals. He also enjoined Mothers to be submissive to their husbands as bible has instructed, observing that peace and love at home make a stable society.

He therefore called on Christians to reflect on the role of mothers, their challenges and find ways to encourage with the poor ones among them especially the widows, calling on all to emulate the effort of the wife of the Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha who has put smiles on the face of the widows through her “She Needs a Roof” Project.

CGC, A CREATION OF RESCUE MISSION FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE - MADUMERE ... CHARGES COORDINATORS TO BE GOOD AMBASSADORS

Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has described Community Government Council, CGC as the hallmark of government structure created by Owelle Rochas Okorocha led Government for good governance, saying the idea is to bring government  closer  to the people at the grassroots .

Madumere stated this in his office yesterday, March 16, 2017 during a meeting with CGC coordinators from the 27 local government area of the State.

The Deputy Governor on behalf of the governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha congratulated the CGC coordinators for emerging from their respective communities, admonishing them to always propagate government policies and programmes as foot soldiers of the Rescue Mission Government.

He stressed the need for a regular interaction between government and the CGC coordinators, pointing out the need for a feedback mechanism.

Pledging government continued desire in the development of the communities, the Prince Madumere directed the commissioner for Community Government Council, Hon. Innocent Eke to ensure a harmonious house.

In his earlier remarks, the commissioner for CGC, Innocent Eke commended the CGC secretaries ,women and youth leaders of the 602 communities in the State for their desire to serve the state, pointing out that the meeting was to reassure them of their importance to deliver on Rescue Mission Agenda at the grassroots.

Madumere Challenges Churches on Moral Decadence ….Dedicates chapel of praise


The chairman Mission and Evangelism of Chapel of Praise, Lake Malinda, Achi-Mberi in Mbaitoli local government of Imo State and Deputy Governor of Imo state, Prince Eze Madumere has frowned at the moral decay in the society, adding that the church has a vital role to play in the fight against moral decadence.

Prince Madumere who stated this yesterday at Lake Malinda, Achi Mberi during the dedication of Chapel of Praise by Most Rev Caleb Maduoma advised the Church to go back to the basis and reinvigorate the spirit of catch them young known for the early church.

According to him, the basic instrument to change the world is evangelism as he advised Christians to create time for God.

Madumere said he had a covenant with God to build the chapel for God, adding that the chapel has strengthened his faith.

MADUMERE HONOURS GOD WITH CHAPEL ...ARCHBISHOPS MADUOMA, OKORO AND OTHERS GRACED OCCASION

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has honoured God with a  Chapel called "Chapel of Praise" of Anglican Communion, Church of Nigeria under Owerri Ecclesiastical Province of Owerri  in honour to God at his country home, Lake Malinda in Achi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli local Government of Imo State earlier today.

Addressing the Congregation, Prince Madumere said that his strength and all that has happened to him in life were not mere happenstance but by God's abiding grace, which has seen him through despite the ups and downs of life.

His words in parts; " I could not be happier with the completion of this Chapel of Praise in honour to our Almighty God. This chapel is to continue to strengthen my faith and to enable me serve God in spirit and in truth. Another reason is to for its full use for evangelism. This is the reason it is detached from my main house. In the course of our journey politically, My leader and the present Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha,  had always rallied us to seek God's face in prayers. This has remained our culture. And in all our exploits, it has been God, and Him alone. Again, we all know that the church plays a vital role in national development especially in the area of building of molding the moral life of our youths who are the leaders of tomorrow..."

MADUMERE, IHERUO, ADMONISH NIGERIANS ON DANGERS OF UNFULFILLED VOWS



The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has advised politicians and the public to exercise restraints while making vows, describing unfulfilled vows as ungodly.

Imo Deputy Governor gave this charge while reacting to the sermon of the day delivered Venerable Dr. Sunday Iheruo, the presiding vicar of Chapel of Praise, Lake Malinda, Achi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government of Imo State last Sunday.

Prince Madumere warned against making unrealistic pledges for the sake of elections, saying such pledges are not only counterproductive but cause loss faith and confidence in government. He also described unkept promises as betrayal of faith and violation of Convenant and agreements.

The number two citizen of Imo State declared that he is proud of Governor Okorocha for his resolute stance  in keeping to his promises to the people. He cited the free education policy in Imo State as a case in point. He also recited Governor Okorocha's pledge to God to bless others if God blesses him and to give those who do not have if God gives him, which he said was what gave rise to the birth of Rochas Foundation Colleges.
He therefore called on politicians and the public to either keep quiet rather than hurriedly make rash vows that may put them in enmity with man and God.

Earlier in his sermon, Ven. Iheruo who read from the Ecclesiastics Chapter 5 :1 to 7 said that people should avoid making rash promises they cannot keep when they come to the house of God; that it is better to draw near to God than to give sacrifices as the stupid ones do. 

He admonished politicians to beware of the promises they make to the masses, reminding them of the curses that follow such deceitful promises.

He also reminded the congregation that the issue of keeping vows is applicable to couples, business partners and every relationships between man and man and God and man.

IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR CALLS FOR RE-INVIGORATION OF IGBO AGE GRADE SYSTEM

Continuing with the calls from good spirited Igbo leaders for Igbo cultural renaissance , Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has called for re-invigoration of Igbo culture.

Prince Madumere made this call while playing host to a group under the aegis of Odoziobodo, for which he is a member, at his country home at Lake Malinda, Achi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.

Speaking to his age grade members, the number two citizens appreciated the effort of Mbaise nation in preserving the core positive cultural heritage of the Igbo race. He also eulogised Mbaise Nation for preserving Mbaise Igbo dialect irrespective of their place of sojourn, education and status. He called on other Igbo brothers to borrow a leaf from Mbaise Nation.

The number two citizen further expressed excitement noting that Mbaise Age grade system embraces women even as wives their members are allowed to attend meetings with their husbands. He described such sensitivity as gender friendly, thereby protecting the esteem of the women.

Explaining his affinity with the people of Mbaise, he said he remembers Mbaise with nostalgia having had his Secondary education at Enyiogugu Secondary School. He said the opportunity of attending his Secondary education in Mbiase exposed him to friends who are like his brothers till date. He said at various times. His words; "I remember Mbaise with nostalgia. Mbaise made me what I am because it was Mbaise that I met great friends who have become associates till date. There are things you cannot take away from them. They are focused and highly educated. Most importantly in their greatness, they never forget home and their cultural heritage. Their new yam festival and Orji Mbaise  have  received attention and commendation of the global community. I feel highly honoured to be admitted into Odoziobodo Age grade since 2014. I have appreciated bonding and sticking together towards achieving set goals amid merriment."

Prince Madumere however described age grade system as very vital in moulding and shaping the morality of the people since it has a way of punishing and ostracizing its members found to have contravened in laid down rules and found to have violated the laws of the land. He also extolled the effort of the age grade in working together to make input in community development and ensuring that peace and tranquility rein in the relationship among members and other members of the society.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Group, Comrade Austin Chilakpo who is also Imo State Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress thanked Deputy Governor for his understanding and appreciation of Igbo culture having come from a Royal family and born by an Eze. He revealed that Prince Madumere, for his close affinity and appreciation of the people of Mbaise, had been a member of the age grade since 2014. 

He described Madumere as a great son of Mbaise by association and adoption, reminding members of the group of how Madumere has championed Mbaise affairs at highest level. He also encouraged him to continue in his humble and accommodating attitude, which will continually open doors for him.

He pledged the support of the group in anything of interest to him and even the Owelle Rochas Okorocha led government, which he is the number two.

The group under the aegis of Odoziobodo Age Grade came in company of Traditional Rulers of Mbaise extraction led by HRH, Eze Pat Uwapepe,  Eze Ndiohia  Ogbe of Aboh Mbaise local government area of Imo State.

High point of the event was the display of cultural dances by Nnarambia Cultural Association of Mbaise, which Imo Deputy Governor showed his mettle both in playing of instruments and dance steps.

MADUMERE ADMONISHES NIGERIANS ON ENDURANCE


Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has called on Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of endurance describing it as a virtue every forward looking citizen must possess.

Prince Madumere made the call yesterday while addressing the congregation in the Chapel of Praise, Anglican Communion,  Church of Nigeria at Lake Malinda, Achi-Mbeire, Mbaitoli local government of Imo State.

The Deputy Governor who read the first lesson from the book of James chapter 1 : 2 to 19, spoke about the importance of endurance in times of trials and temptations. Explaining the portion of the bible, Prince Madumere said; "God never said there will be no tribulations but what matters is our endurance to hold on in times of trials. When we seek, we must have the patience for the answer. Endurance or perseverance is a virtue, with which faith and maturity of mind are tested. Today, Nigeria is under doing a turbulent time, all of a sudden we have all lost faith. Truly, those who engage themselves in productive vocation with faith and endurance will surely have the last laugh. Those who lack the virtue of endurance either end up in crime and other anti-social behaviours, which may bring them to ruin. I therefore called on Nigerians to be patriotic by taking part in programmes that will uplift our country."

The number two citizen of Imo State also posited that hard times may not always be considered as bad since it creates room for creativity thereby engendering growth and development.

He therefore called on all Nigerians to pray for spirit of endurance while showing innovativeness and consistency whatever their hands find them doing.

NIGERIAN NAVY PARTNERS IMO ON SECURITY …AS DEVELOPMENT OF NAVAL BASE IN IMO BEGINS SOON


The Imo State government has reiterated its commitment to the security of lives and property of Imolites as has embraced partnership with the Nigerian Navy in security and maritime development in the State.

Prince Madumere, the Deputy Governor of Imo state who received officers of the Nigerian Navy in his office on behalf of Governor Okorocha said the State is excited with the renewed presence of the Nigerian Navy in the State and pledged to provide all necessary logistics needed.

Madumere stated that the Imo government will play a complementary role in ensuring that work commences at the proposed Naval Base in Osse-moto in Oguta local government area of the State, promising that the Certificate of Occupancy needed for the full takeover of the place will be provided as soon as possible.

He described the Navy and other security agencies in the country as the pride of the nation, adding that the State would immediately improvise an office for the officers pending the completion of the place.

Price Eze Madumere  stated that the economy of the state has  turned around  which is occasioned by the prudent management of the State’s  scarce resources by Owelle Rochas Okorocha led Rescue Mission government, pointing out the urban renewal going on  is to make Imo better and conducive for investments.

Earlier in his remarks, the flag officer commanding Naval training command, Rear Admiral Ifeola Mohammed owho spoke on behalf of the Chief of Naval Staff commended the State government for its support to the Nigerian Navy in the discharge of its constitutional roles, especially its support in several infrastructural projects and provision of utility vehicles to Nigeria Navy Finance and Logistics College Owerrinta, Abia State.

Rear Admiral Mohammed speaking on security concern of the State pledged, on behalf of the Chief of Naval Staff, to work in concert with other sister agencies to support the efforts of Imo government in ensuring effective security of lives and property in the State.

His words; “Nigerian Navy Finance and Logistics would continue to participate in the internal security architecture of the State. The Nigerian Navy would work in close collaboration with other security agencies towards ensuring a conducive environment for social, economic and human capacity.”

He revealed the Navy’s intention to commence the development of the land at Osse–Moto donated by the State government in 1982, adding that the presence of the Navy in Osse moto would attract maritime investment and economic prosperity for the State.

High point of the courtesy visit was the presentation of an award of appreciation to Governor Okorocha through Prince Eze Madumere, Deputy Governor of Imo State for his complementary role in the security of the state.

GOOD THINGS ARE COMING TO IMO - IMO DEPUTY GOV DECLARES ...AS FG COMMISSIONS 100 HOUSING UNITS IN IMO


Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere may have joined his boss, the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas in a song declaring that good things are happening  in Imo as the Federal Government earlier today commissioned 100 units of houses in Naze, Owerri west LGA of Imo State.

Prince Eze Madumere who received a combined team of directors from the office of the Federal Ministry of Power, Works and Housing and Federal Mortage bank led by the Minister of State for Power, works and Housing, Hon Mustapha Baba Shehuri  in his office, Government House, Owerri revealed that Imo state for the first time feels secure as part of one Nigeria with Federal government presence being recently felt  in the State.

According to the Deputy Governor, "the Housing scheme is apt and what the the State needs at this critical time. Imolites need roofs over their heads. This is giving hope to the middle class earners.  For us, it is a commendable effort. My leader and Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha is ever ready to continue to partner with the Federal Government is such programmes and projects since it is geared towards making life better for the people of Imo State."

Speaking further, Prince Eze Madumere said the low cost housing estate at Naze will compliment Nneomas’ pet project in the State, which has provided about 200 units of tastefully fully furnished two bedroom apartments for the widows free of charge with financial empowerment.

The Deputy Governor appreciated the succour, which the housing project has provided in for workers in the State, adding that it is part of Okorocha’s blue print and idea of empowerment and job creation, which is derivable from the value chain of the projects.

He thanked the Minister and the Managing Director of the Federal Mortage bank for the proposed packages in the state, pointing Imo State is ready to play a role to ensure its citizenry benefit more out that the proposed 5000 housing units which the Federal Government proposed for the country.

In his address, the Minister of State for Works, Power and Housing, Hon Baba Shehuri said the 100 housing units being commissioned is part of the 5000 Federal Government housing scheme in all the States of the Federation.

According to him, the housing unit is a Private, Public, Partnership ( PPP ) arrangement, which will be affordable to Nigerians especially public servants.

The Minister stated that the Federal Government through the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing has signed a N2 Billion MOU with Shelter Afri ( an African Shelter company ) to build affordable houses for Nigerians, and appealed to Imo state government to take advantage of the scheme.

He commended the government of Imo State for the conducive environment given to the developer to operate in.

Contributing, the Managing Director of Federal Mortage bank, Richard Esin x-rayed the various packages provided by the mortage bank to Nigerians.
Esin said the federal mortage bank is partnering with the ministry of power, works and housing in providing affordable houses for Nigerians, which will also creat job opportunities for the youths.

He said the partnership has kept prices of houses in the country at controlled rate even as he urged the public to avail themselves of the opportunities and packages provided by the federal mortgage bank of Nigeria.

The high point of the event was the joint unveiling and commissioning of the Housing Units in Naze, Owerri West local government of Imo State by the Deputy governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere and the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Alhaji Mustapher Baba Shehuri.

ASH WEDNESDAY: IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR ADMONISHES CHRISTIANS TO DRAW NEARER TO GOD


As Christians all over the world set for the 40 days fasting and prayers as part of the lenting period, the Chairman of Evangelism in the Chapel of Praise and Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has called on Nigerians to draw nearer to God.

Madumere who gave the admonishment yesterday, March 1, 2017, in the Chapel of Praise, Lake Malinda, Achi Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State yesterday while observing this year’s Ash-Wednesday, admonished Christians to put God first before pursuit of earthly things.

He decried a situation where people use busy schedule as excuse in service to God, describing it as foolishness.

His words; "As we observe "Ash-Wednesday", it reminds us that the breath of life we have does not belong to us. Let us remember that some day, The Lord shall call for our souls and that will be the end of earthly pursuits. It should even be worrisome to us that not only we shall die but judgment shall follow for us to give account of how we have led our life. From dust we were made and to dust we shall return. This call for sober reflection.  I therefore call on all to turn to God and it shall be well with us. We shall be remembering the ultimate sacrifice that Christ has paid on the cross that we might be saved. Let us show gratitude by worshipping him and keeping his commandments."

The Deputy Governor while praising God for giving him the opportunity to serve Him pledged to be submissive to the word of God while also praying for God's abundant grace to do His will.

Earlier in his sermon taken from Joel 2 vs 12, the officiating priest,Venerable Sunday Iheruo enjoined Christians to return to God.

According to Ven, Iheruo, every minute of one’s life brings him closer to his grave, pointing out that what God wants from humans is to serve Him with their hearts.

He advised Christians to change their life styles especially during this lenting season.

Contributing, the chairman of Imo state council of traditional rulers, HRH Eze Samual Ohiri described Ash Wednesday as the beginning of lenting season when Christians observe and recall the sufferings of Jesus Christ on the cross.

The traditional ruler advised christains to be prepared at any time for nobody knows the time of christs’ second coming.
