IMO GOVERNMENT REITERATES READINESS TO PARTNER NYSC ON AGRICULTURE

Imo State Government has reiterated its preparedness to partner with the National Youth Service Corps scheme in its economic diversification policy through agriculture and agribusiness.
Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere who represented the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, reiterated this during the official closing parade of the 2016 Batch B Corps members deployed to Imo State State at the Orientation Camp, Eziama Obaire, Nkwerre Local Government of Imo state earlier today the 14th of Nov.

It will be recalled the Imo State Government recently promised to allocate lands to interested NYSC members for agricultural purposes.
His words in part; " Today due to economic recession in the land, In Imo State we have focused attention to the development of agriculture especially in the areas we have the comparative advantage. You will be guided in how to assist in boosting rural agricultural development in the local government..."
Earlier in his speech, while congratulating the corps members for successfully completing the orientation course and having been prepared to be tolerant and instilled with the spirit of patriotism. He reminded them the essence of the scheme as founded by the Federal Government, which he said is to foster peace and unity.
He therefore called on the corps members to embrace one another and try to learn those positive things in the culture of others from different ethnic group that will engender national development.
Prince Madumere commended the camp officials comprising the collaborative agencies and other individuals including the host community for making the course a successful one. He also assured the scheme that Imo State government will continue to provide resources and enabling environment to complement them to enable them have a peaceful and rewarding service year.
Speaking earlier, Imo State Coordinator of NYSC scheme, Mr. Isaac Fasanu revealed that the corps members have been drilled and have been taught relevant skills to equip them in helping the State in diverse areas.
He thanked Imo State Government for its continual effort to ensure the smooth running of the scheme in Imo. He called on the State Government to always answer them whenever the call.
