IMO IS AN EMERGING HOME OF TOURISM - IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has described Imo State as the emerging home of tourism in Nigeria."

Prince Madumere made this revelation on 29th December while speaking to newsmen in Calabar during 2016 "#MyCalabar Carnival."

Prince Madumere who hailed Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State for hosting the world in a well packaged carnival that is of international standard said he was in Calabar on behalf of Governor Okorocha in solidarity to the Government and people of Cross River as they celebrate their cultural festivities and carnival.

He also said that he was in Calabar with some of the government functionaries of Imo State to learn from the State the secret of their success story.

IMO DEPUTY GOV. CHARGES FRSC, MOTORISTS ON SAFE DRIVING DURING YULETIDE

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has charged the personnel of Federal Road Safety Corps to up their checks to ensure that safety measures are followed by motorists to check road mishaps during the yuletide.

Prince Madumere’s call was contained in a press release signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Uche Onwuchekwa.

According to the release, Prince Madumere while commending the men of FRSC for their professionalism and thorough, he appealed to them to go the extra mile in their checks on the motorists to reduce road mishaps.
Prince Madumere emphasized the need to look out for motorists who engage in alcoholic beverages and other hard drugs while driving. He also urges them to check phone calls, chats and exchange of text messages while driving, the acts he described as part of the major causes of most road mishaps.

He also admonished Motorists to ensure they observe all safety measures by ensuring they have good tires and do routine checks before driving out their vehicles. He also urged them to maintain acceptable speed limit to enable them control their vehicles in cases of system failure with a view to reducing deadly impacts in events of unavoidable accidents.

Yesterday I joined the Executive Governor of Imo State His Excellency Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha OON and the great people of Imo State to welcome to our dear state The Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the President-elect of the Republic of Ghana Mr. Nana Akufo-Addo both of whom came to join us for the IMO DAY  OF THANKSGIVING. I give thanks to God Almighty for making the event a grand success. We have a lot to be thankful to God for. If for nothing else, that we are all alive today is something to give God thanks and praises for. May the good God continue to bless the people of Imo State and lead us all into the New Year. Thank you.

IMO GOVERNMENT REITERATES READINESS TO PARTNER NYSC ON AGRICULTURE

Imo State Government has reiterated its preparedness to partner with the National Youth Service Corps scheme in its economic diversification policy through agriculture and agribusiness.
Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere who represented the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, reiterated this during the official closing parade of the 2016 Batch B Corps members deployed to Imo State State at the Orientation Camp, Eziama Obaire, Nkwerre Local Government of Imo state earlier today the 14th of Nov.

It will be recalled the Imo State Government recently promised to allocate lands to interested NYSC members for agricultural purposes.
His words in part; " Today due to economic recession in the land, In Imo State we have focused attention to the development of agriculture especially in the areas we have the comparative advantage. You will be guided in how to assist in boosting rural agricultural development in the local government..."
Earlier in his speech, while congratulating the corps members for successfully completing the orientation course and having been prepared to be tolerant and instilled with the spirit of patriotism. He reminded them the essence of the scheme as founded by the Federal Government, which he said is to foster peace and unity.
He therefore called on the corps members to embrace one another and try to learn those positive things in the culture of others from different ethnic group that will engender national development.
Prince Madumere commended the camp officials comprising the collaborative agencies and other individuals including the host community for making the course a successful one. He also assured the scheme that Imo State government will continue to provide resources and enabling environment to complement them to enable them have a peaceful and rewarding service year.
Speaking earlier, Imo State Coordinator of NYSC scheme, Mr. Isaac Fasanu revealed that the corps members have been drilled and have been taught relevant skills to equip them in helping the State in diverse areas.
He thanked Imo State Government for its continual effort to ensure the smooth running of the scheme in Imo. He called on the State Government to always answer them whenever the call.

IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR BURIES STEP MOTHER

Yesterday, the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere with the family members performed the final burial of the remains of his step mother, Ugoeze Theresa Madumere who was aged 71.
Prince Madumere who delivered the funeral oration on the exited Ugoeze Madumere eulogized her as a faithful wife and a great mother who played very important roles in their upbringing.
In an emotional laden oration, Prince Madumere revealed that late Theresa Madumere was his number 1 confidant he shared his dreams and aspirations with. He added that she kept all his little secrets as a young boy even while planning his travel to the United States of America.
Speaking further, he described mama Theresa as a woman of peace and a great leader who lived up to expectation in every leadership roles she played while alive especially her commitment and devotion in God's work and service to humanity.
He submitted that Mama Theresa will be sorely missed by every member of Madumere Royal Family.
He thanked those who came to be with the family at their mourning moment and was quick to reveal that he appreciate even more since he never invited anyone, saying because of what she meant to the family, they decided to solemnly handle the funeral rites in accordance to her simple and peaceful life style.
In His condolence message, the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha described the news as sad but however urged the family to be consoled by the fact that she lived a fulfilled God fearing life and will be remembered for her love for peace and selflessness.
For Her Excellency, the wife of the Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, she described late Ugoeze Theresa's death as shocking. She however prayed God to console the family and for God to grant them grace to overcome the vacuum created by her demise.
Consoling Prince Madumere and members of the family, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, Chief of Staff, Imo State Government House, described late Mama Theresa as a great woman who played her part when alive. He added that having being a devout Christian who helped in nurturing successful children like the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere and his siblings, prayed for the repose of her soul.
Joining in commiserating with the family, Hon. Uche Oguwike, member of Imo State House of Assembly representing Ikeduru State constituency, he described late Ugoeze Theresa Madumere as a woman with compassionate heart who lived an impactful life through service and demonstration of love to humanity. He urged the family to take solace in the hope of resurrection.
Also speaking during the funeral, Dr. Edward Ihejirika praised late Theresa Madumere for her great feats having done the best he could as a mother especially to the children. He also prayed God to accept her soul.
Among others who came to be with the Deputy Governor were the Deputy Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozuruigbo, Hon. Lugard Osuji, the Majority Leader, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnataraonye, Member, Imo State House of Assembly representing Mbaitoli State Constituency and his Owerri West counterpart, Hon. Victor Onyewuchi.
We also had traditional leaders from across the States led by the Chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers, Imo State, HRM, Eze Sam Ohiri among numerous others.

ROAD REHABILITATION REACHES UBOMIRI, ORODO-OGWA ROADS

Yesterday, Imo Deputy Governor Prince Eze Madumere flagged-off Ubomiri, Orodo-Ogwa Road.
Speaking to the good people of Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State shortly before performing the flag-off ceremony, the Secretary to the Government of Imo State, Sir George Eche accompanied by Hon. ( Deacon) Chike Okafor, member House of Representatives, National Assembly representing Okigwe North Federal constituency, who represented the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere reminded the people of Mbaitoli the people oriented policies of Owelle Rochas Okorocha led Rescue Mission Government.

He enumerated the numerous achievements of the administration ranging from Free and qualitative education, 305 one storey buildings with 6 class rooms each equitably built in twenty-seven local government areas of Imo State, massive infrastructural development, investments in the health sector like never before, which has prepared the ground for foreign direct investments in the health sector among others and the present urban renewal programme going on in the Capital City of Owerri and other Urban areas of other zones f the State.
It will be recalled that Prince Madumere in line with the campaign of Rescue Mission to fix major economic roads in the State had, last week, flagged-off Nworubi-Ifeakala- Ukwu Orji Road and Nkwo-Orji-Obazu-Orie Mbieri Road.
He showered encomium on Prince Madumere whom he described as a man of loyalty and integrity whose relationship with Governor Okorocha is exemplary. he averred that Madumere occupies a strategic position in the Administration of Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
Speaking further, he described the road rehabilitation exercise as a State wide campaign, which is taking place simultaneously in twenty-seven local government areas of Imo State to make movement across the State much easier and to aid economic and social activities. He however hinted that the exercise is possible because of the sacrifices made by Governor Okorocha despite the present economic downturn.
He therefore called on the people to support Governor Okorocha and the illustrious son of Owerri zone, Prince Madumere as an encouragement to do more.
Hon. Member of Imo State House of Assembly representing Mbaitoli State Constituency, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnataraonye called on his people to be patient as Governor Okorocha has earmarked the Road as one of the priority economic roads.
Speaking earlier, the Transition Committee Chairman designate of Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, Dr. Chris Nwaike introduced the August visitors in order of precedence and explain their aim of coming which boardered on dividend of Democracy a and rehabilitation of Mbaitoli roads.
Other government officials present were Hon. Chinyere Uwandu, Commissioner, Civil Service Commission, Hon. Kingsley Ononuju among others.

MADUMERE FELICITATES WITH IMO FIRST LADY ON HER BIRTHDAY...


On behalf of my family, I heartily felicitate with a great woman of uncommon fate and faith, the Wife of our Governor, Her Excellency, Ugo Nneoma Nkechinyere Okorocha as she celebrates her Birthday today.
Her Excellency, Ugo Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha has in no little measure continued to be the biblical path of a great help mate to our Governor by joining him to ameliorate the sufferings of the downtrodden especially indigent widows and children. She has so far handed over keys of 175 two bedroom apartments to the indigent widows, as well as empowering them financially.
As the the Chairperson of the Wives of the Southern Governors' Forum, she has shown the light proving that women are indispensable partners in the development of our Nation.
It is my earnest prayer that God in his infinite mercy will continue to shower her with His abundant blessings in all facets of life and grant her many more years of greater fulfillments in service to God and humanity.
Once again, Happy Birthday Nne Oha!
