PDP BENEFITTED FROM AGBOSOS JPROS BOOTY - IMO APC COORDINATOR

PDP BENEFITTED FROM AGBOSOS JPROS BOOTY - IMO APC COORDINATOR
...CALL FOR JUSTICE OVER OHAKIM' ALLEGED LOOTED N62 BILLION
...TELLS DURUIHEOMA TO RETIRE FROM POLITICS

Facts emerging has that PDP may not be free from the alleged bribery scandal of over Four Hundred and Eighty Million naira that rocked Imo State, which led to the impeachment of Sir Jude Agbaso, the erstwhile Deputy Governor of Imo State.

Speaking to the Journalists yesterday over, Prince Mashal Okafor-anyanwu, Imo APC Coordinator, has said that Agbaso may not be alone in the JPROS bribery scandal. postulating that with the partnership witnessed so far between Agbaso family and PDP,  the erstwhile Deputy may have backers from PDP.

speaking further, Prince Okafor-anyanwu said that it is becoming clear that PDP has not pretended about their resolve to make Imo people suffer as most of them have vowed to sabotage government effort in the area of development. the first was the pulling down of stainless Solar powered street lights.

It will be recalled, there was an effort to remove Okorocha from office with Martin Agbaso and Emeka Offor championing the project, where carrot was dangled at the Speaker who turned it down, since they could not substantiate the reason they put forward.

Recalling also the missing N62 billion alleged to have been embezzled by the immediate past administration of PDP under Ohakim, Prince Okafor-anayanwu queried why the real looters are left wandering and playing god. Where is the justice, he queried.

Speaking further, Imo APC Coordinator, reiterated Governor Okorocha's resolve to do everything possible to ensure that all awarded projects are completed. He, however, warned those who are using the business of the government for politics. Those contractors who are sabotaging the government due to their party leaning will never be spared as they will be made to face justice no matter how  highly connected they may think they are, he enthused.

APC Leader  further disclosed that no amount of blackmail, sabotage, propaganda will make PDP rule again while calling for scrapping  of PDP since it has lost its usefulness, maintaining that the party in question has caused more harm than good in the Nigerian project.

Meanwhile, the APC helmsman has described PDP chairman as a frustrated rascal who has resorted to mudslinging without any proof of his claims. He called on the PDP leadership to come forward with their facts. He further chided them for running the State aground where it not God's intervention through the emergence of Owelle Rochas Okorocha who has been cleaning their mess in Imo State.

He further called on Duruiheoma who he described a dramatised political failure to face reality, saying the party called people deceiving people is at the verge of getting extinct. He advised the Imo PDP leader to retire as he his idea of strategic engagement has become anachronistic.

IMO SHUT DOWN: WOMEN PROTEST INCESSANT HARASSMENT OF IMO GOVT. OFFICIALS BY EFCC, ICPC AND OTHER AGENCIES OF FED. GOVT. ...THREATENS TO GO NAKED AS THEY OCCUPIED OWERRI METROPOLIS FOR OVER THREE HOURS ... WARNS FED. GOVT. AGAINST INFLUENCING FORTHCOMING SUPREME COURT JUDGEMENT ...IMO GOVT. CALLS FOR CALM

Imo women shut down Owerri City Capital of Imo State in protest against what they described as incessant harassment against Imo State Government officials by EFCC and ICPC over spurious petitions by enemies of the government.

The women numbering over five thousand with carrying placards of various inscription - injustice against Owelle Rochas is an injustice against Ndigbo, INEC release Oguta election result, President Jonathan you promised Free and Fair election, we are surprised you are silent on Oguta election, Police, SSS leave government officials alone to work for Imo people,  Abuja, allow INEC release Oguta election and so on so forth.

Speaking to the journalists, one of the women leaders, Mrs. Adaku Abubaeruleke, allays fears over the news of the attempt of the Federal Government to compromise justice and warned that should any injustices be meted out to Governor Okorocha, it means injustice to the entire women of Imo State and the Nation. Warning further, she said the worm will resist any act to tele-guide the verdict of thenSupreme Court.

'When we voted for President Jonathan, we did it with our heart and that was because we wanted and love him, where he decides to do other wise for no other reason than political divide, we shall rise against him. We have read so much in the newspapers, we believe that there is no smoke without fire. We advise President Jonathan to hands off the matter should any of news filtering the ears of the people be true as Igbo women in conjunction with others will resist such act with the last drop of their blood'.

Speaking further, Lady Mabel Echebiri who introduced herself as Apex woman Leader described the present government as a well focused and people oriented. 'How can we keep quiet over a perceived perpetration of injustice to a government that has done so much for the the women and every family in Imo State? A government that has given free education from primary to tertiary level. This is a government that has remembered the rural dwellers and is constructing roads for the good of our people. Again, this is a government that has reminded us of what good governance is all about. Since exit of our dear Mbakwe, we have never had it this good. I call on the Presidency to search itself and review its action plan in Imo to avoid avoidable anarchy.'

When the angry women in their peaceful protest arrived Imo Government House for a reaction of the government, Prince Eze Madumere, Imo Deputy Governor after receiving their grouse, he called on the women to be peaceful in their protest and should not allow bad element to take advantage of their protest to perpetrate their heinous acts while calling on the Imolites to remain calm. He further advised no one should take laws into his hand for whatever reason while promising that the Government of Owelle Rochas Okorocha will continue in his people oriented programmes to making Imo people bettere and better.

Again, the women may have been responding to the news over the purported move by the Presidency to influence the out coming of the forthcoming Supreme Court ruling at the end of this month. Major National Dailies have been awashed with front page banners with allegation over the concluded plan of the Presidency to pervert justice against the Governor of Imo State at the Supreme Court judgement, which comes up on October, 2013.

However, the women vowed to occupy Nigeria if their entreaties are not met and will go the extra mile to ensure that justice is not only done but be seen to have been done.

Okorocha: A Governor Indicted By Rebellion, Vindicated By Unbeatable Scorecard

He could be better described as a rebel with a cause. His rebellion is an indictment against him for the political class and among the political circles angry at him for going against the old political traditions, starving the polity of cash, ending the Ghana Must Go Republic, breaking the jinx of domination of the polity by a privileged few, and not honoring the gesture of the Godfathers who played great role in electing him to power.  However, his cause is a vindication for him before the masses, the common electorates and the people yearning for change in the way the polity has been run, and for Imo citizens, both home and abroad, clamoring for the development of the state and its people. His cause is to deliver the dividends of governance to the commonest of the common people “for the sake of the glory of the job and not for the sake of the profit of the job.”
He was almost the last, if not the last candidate, to secure his nomination with a party during the 2011 general elections. Ordinarily his emergence and journey remains an interesting one. First he was at the door of his party, the PDP, where the then serving governor, Ikedi Ohakim, fought ferociously to keep him at bay. From ACN to an array of choices of possible credible parties he made an interesting foray. All he needed was that ticket, not actually the party. His political personality was already a hot sale and his name was as palatable as iconic in the minds of the political class. He was also as charismatic as courageous to earn the confidence of the power brokers in the ruling PDP who were already managing a mutually hypocritical relationship with the incumbent governor.  They considered Ohakim a hard sale for the coming elections owing to his unhidden blunders in human relations, especially the catholic community whose influence in the polity is well known.
He, Rochas Okorocha, was expected to emerge the best choice of the masses who had a mental picture of him as “Rochas of The schools For The Poor and The Less Privileged.” His brush with the Red Cross Society and his exploits as the global organization’s Nigerian President constituted a great leverage. For the masses in all the political regions of the country, Rochas is a selfless philanthropist and a lover of the common people and the masses. Voting him into power with access to huge state fund would help him to do more than he had done. Of course, before this moment he had built free schools with free education in all these regions, catering for not less than 5000 students. His oratorical prowess was also a charm of some sort and a great tool at that. Luckily he had a window of opportunity in All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) where he negotiated his way to secure the guber ticket already considered to be in Chief Martin Agbaso’s palm. That was all Okorocha needed to become the governor of Imo state.
As soon as Okorocha secured the candidature of a party, he had a lot at his disposal to help his dream come true. There was an enormous goodwill of the masses, as many were quick to demonstrate their willingness to volunteer at no charge. But beyond all these, he had his political foot soldiers led by the former Chief Of Staff in his first one year plus in office, and his current deputy Prince Eze Madumere (MFR). Madumere came from the flanks as an American trained management consultant whose exploits in political strategic thinking took the incumbent governor Ohakim and his ruling party by a shocking surprise. He was a long time ally of Okorocha and his COS before the elections. Sooner than later, Rochas Okorocha, the APGA candidate, had taken the shine off every other guber candidate including the then incumbent governor. School children began to sing his name like national anthem, and the fear of Okorocha’s son became the beginning of wisdom for the then Gov. Ohakim. The energy around him was too engulfing, warranting former president Obasanjo to visit the state to help the then Gov. Ohakim. By this time, the PDP had decoded Madumere’s ability to upturn the tables against them. Sooner Madumere was jailed on fictitious grounds and later freed by the court to continue his onslaught. Minus-plus into the electioneering campaign, Owelle Rochas Okorocha won the elections. He is now Gov. Anayo Okorocha, the executive governor of Imo state.
The emergence of the Gov-elect, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, was simply symbolic in all sense of it. The celebrations and the events that followed were as historic as memorable. Personally, I vividly recall the frenzied crowds; I recall the wild, wild jubilations, and the endless celebrations in colorful admixture. I also recall the tears rolling down the faces of a people long held hostage by old powerful political establishments that left nothing but carnage and plunder on its trail. Even the Military guys, the Customs, the Road Safety, the Police and the Civil Defense joined the frenzied crowd to gyrate and chant “Ikiri Bu Onye Ohi (Ikiri is a thief- a cynical reference to the then Gov. Ikedi Ohakim who was alleged to have looted the state to bankruptcy with his allies in the PDP)”. I can’t forget a soldier dancing with a man holding a live cock, the symbol of APGA. But beyond the celebrations, Okorocha’s victory represented many things for many people; some for good, some for evil; all masked within the hearts of men. Of course Shakespeare, the legendary writer once said that “you can never know a man’s mind by the configurations on his face.”
For the political class, Okorocha was one of them who also understood the reason why they abandoned Ohakim for being greedy and selfish. So he had to be liberal to avoid Ohakim’s kind of fate. Okorocha cherishes his popularity, so oiling the system is one unavoidable way he would choose to keep this beat, some of them believed. Minus or plus, Okorocha’s emergence would allow some banana republic kind of politics and governance- the chop I chop kind of thing. In fact, some opinions among the political class viewed Okorocha as a business politician who must inevitably need some kind of “Ghana Must Go” atmosphere to thrive. But for the masses Okorocha’s election marked a new dawn of freedom, development, peace, security, stability and progress. He was the Messiah that would bring the change so long needed. As an individual he had demonstrated the messianic attributes and now he has a better chance to do more, and he shouldn’t fail.  The point is that all were happy with Okorocha’s victory. But this happiness was soon to be overshadowed by the fallouts of Okorocha’s approach to politics and governance, especially his stand against bribery and corruption.
All were happy for one man’s victory. Each group’s happiness for this victory was for different reasons. The complicating dimension to it came from the fact that all the reasons ran on contradictory narratives. This contradiction created a hard choice for Okorocha who must choose to go with one group against the other. Without blinking Okorocha chose to go with the masses and the people. Today he has created an unbeatable record of achievement in developmental strive, but I am sure that by now the governor would be shocked to discover that blackmail sells like pure water and the stunts of media demonization sticks as long as a birth mark. He has received enough of it. However, Okorocha, a leftwing politician with a typical mindset of a rebel against the old order, is not willing to bulge in his fight to reclaim the soul of the state from a set of powerful figures who have ever held the state and its people to ransom politically, no matter the price he has to pay. At whatever price, “Imo Must Be Better” and his mission remains “My people! My people!”
At his inauguration the new governor was too quick to distance himself from the old political traditions. For the Godfathers of Imo politics and the guys of the old political establishments, Okorocha’s stern words on stamping out corruption were a clear indication that their support for Okorocha’s emergence has become “euphoria turned tragedy”.  The governor added salt to fresh injury when he stated without equivocation “I am not driven by the profits of the job, but by the glory of the job.” If you are a smart insider of the Imo politics or a seasoned analyst with his fingers on the pulse of the Imo politics, you would notice without much ado that this statement belies more than it seemed.
While branding his administration’s agenda “the Rescue Mission” the new governor told an unimaginable crowd of Imo people like never seen before that he was in a hurry to develop Imo state. In the people he saw dejection and poverty, and the deep yearning to be freed from these limiting vices. Then when he saw the love of the people for him, Okorocha felt and confessed his indebtedness to the people, letting go of  his emotions at a point and weeping tears while delivering his inaugural speech at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri. “If delivering these promises is what it means to be poor, then I choose to be poor” “ If not being corrupt is what it means to be poor, then I choose to be poor” the governor told an elated crowd, giving the people every reason to believe the messiah is here with us. Today, to every honest Imo citizen, Okorocha has justified his statements.
Sooner the governor swung into action, cutting the bogus security vote as enjoyed by his predecessors, downsizing an oversized staff, and ministries. But first, he had stopped last minutes looting of the system by the previous administration of former governor Ohakim. His manner of appointments for commissioners, SAs, and SSAs was the first signal that a rebel was on the horizon, and stopping him should be the highest priority of the political elites if they hoped to see the old system preserved. Ordinarily, appointments were doled as slots to political elites who would in turn share among their most loyal disciples. Okorocha’s own format was funny. It was as weird as unthinkable for the old guys. It was an absurdity in all logical realms. From one corner of the state to another the new governor, poised to break from the past and stamp his political will on the polity, picked candidates from among the common people who had the zeal to be part of the rescue mission. He showed the same attitude in the manner in which his government gave out contracts to younger people and commoners, people who before now would never dream of such opportunities.
Sooner than later the old political establishment went for the governor’s head- a head hunt they were ready to invest or stake anything. Career blackmailers went on the rampage, and paid fifth columnists churned pages after pages of fictitious allegations and character assassinations aimed at discrediting the governor’s agenda, his vision and his personality. His closest ally and the most consummate insider of his political dynasty, Prince Eze Madumere, was also not spared of the damaging stunts. The primary aim of the plotters of these machinations was to create loss of confidence in the system and to create disaffection between the governor and the masses, especially the electorates, with the 2015 elections in view.
Of course, Gov. Okorocha parades a combination of compelling qualities and factors working for him, including his unassailable charisma and a rare kind of political will that provides an inner steel to make him unstoppable in his vision to develop the state, while stamping out the cancer of corruption within the polity. Yet, the fact remains that the governor, being a first timer into elective offices, especially an office as sensitive and tasking as the one he occupies currently is bound to find himself in blunders. At the slightest misstep, his opponents and detractors jump out of their hiding to attack him like caged hyenas released unto a man with bloodied red meat in his bare hands. Some even established local newspapers charged with the task of publishing everything unpalatable about the Okorocha administration and misrepresenting facts about all his noble strides with the aim of misleading the gullible and largely uninformed masses. In the midst of all these, Gov. Okorocha has remained undaunted in his effort to develop every facet of the state and end looting and corruption.
First the governor kicked off his agenda with huge dive into infrastructural development of an unimaginable extent. Every Imo citizen was shocked to learn that a state government could undertake such magnitude of infrastructural development in all the geopolitical zones of the state. Today, new cities and modern market facilities are springing up in strategic locations in all the geopolitical zones.  Sooner his detractors went to town to misinform the public that with huge investment into the infrastructural sector, the governor would render the state bankrupt. What they failed to tell the people is what the fund to be reserved has been used for in the past, if not for sharing it among corrupt elite politicians and elite civil servants.
As if he was not listening to the distracting voices of his detractors, both real and imaginary, the governor unveiled a massive road construction blueprint that touches all the communities in the 27 local governments, while opening new special new roads within the state’s cardinal cities of Owerri, Okigwe and Orlu, and rehabilitating all the old ones. Today, the governor’s name and administration has become synonymous with road construction and infrastructural development. No one denies him that credit.   The immediate and remote impacts of the government’s massive rural road project remains unquantifiable.
Aside his giant strides in the above two areas, Gov. Okorocha has left an unbeatable record in the area of health delivery services and improved health infrastructures. In all the 27 local governments, new hospitals to be well equipped to world class standard are springing up, with some already completed to takeoff stages.  In education, the governor shocked many Nigerians when he declared free education for Imo people from primary to tertiary levels and encouraged school children by paying them stipends. He followed up with complete and comprehensive implementation of the policy. Today, to the extent the available records indicate, the governor maintains a leading record in educational infrastructures.
At least each community has one of its schools being retouched or completely overhauled. Meanwhile the infrastructures of the Owerri City School can compete with some universities in Nigeria. There are a lot to be said in this sector of a governor dubbed “The grand commander of free education” in Nigeria due to his unassailable record in that sector. Just few weeks ago, tens of thousands of free school desks and chairs were made available to the schools in each of the 27 LG council areas, in addition to other free material provisions earlier made available to the students of these schools.
From Agriculture, power, environment, community development, youth and women empowerment, job creation, to security of lives and properties and numerous areas, the governor is building a sterling record of achievements that cumulatively forms a most credible compelling scorecard for vindication from all kinds of blackmails, discredits and constant stir of negative sentiments by his detractors. He has changed the face and quality of civil service in the state, and workers welfare remains a priority to his administration. By 21st of every month salaries have been paid. The governor has also given the teaching profession the credibility and attraction it ought to have. Today, unlike what obtained before, kidnapping and armed robbery have abetted to the lowest ebbs. The prospects and the development benefits of the Community government council system (CGC), a fourth tier government system pioneered by the Okorocha administration to bring governance closer to the people, is a vindication for the governor against stiff opposition that greeted its introduction.
The fact is that giving an appreciable and fair account of the achievements of the Okorocha administration can never be a paper affair. Probably it will take the entire pages of a newspaper edition to capture the entire developmental strides. Gov. Okorocha’s choice to go with the people against the elites of the many political circles in Imo has stood him out as a rebel.
As impressive and unbeatable his performances and achievements are in just 2 years of his coming to office as the governor of Imo state, it is evident the governor might be fighting the biggest battle of his political career.  Of course, today in Imo state, after Gov. Okorocha has tinkered with the system, we can’t afford to ignore the fact that a new civilization of governance and politics is emerging in our lives as a state. Unfortunately, blind men within the powerful political circles are trying to suppress it. They are frantically and desperately fighting to restore the dying world that gave them birth. In the midst of this life or death fight, the governor has earned a barrage of unfounded blackmails, destructive criticisms and all manner of attacks from the opposition and the old political establishments. But while the grand plots to stop him by 2015 by a desperate opposition continue to gather momentum, the fact remains that his scorecard remains next to none after the legendary Chief Sam Onunaka Mbakwe. Hence, with a considerable accuracy, but with appropriate discount for uncertainties, the governor remains a candidate to beat as his record makes it almost impossible for the opposition to offer the electorates a more credible alternative come 2015.

Politically, both now and come 2015, the choice is for Imo people to choose between mediocrity and excellence. It is the choice of the people to either decide to choose to support the governor in his mission to rescue Imo from the hands of slave masters or remain slaves in the hands of these slave masters. For me and other people of goodwill, Okorocha, no doubt, is a rebel, but he is a rebel with a cause, vindicated by his sterling scorecard.

I HAVE NO 2015 GUBER AMBITION - IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR

His Excellency arrived his country home for a meeting with umunna. He was received with a sounding ovation. Again, this is a man who is synonymous with humility. He meets with his people on none political bases at the end of every month.

Meanwhile, in the meeting of Umunna, Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere MFR, to the consternation of everybody said he was not interested in any electoral position saying his project is Owelle Rochas Okorocha and plan B and C remain Owelle Rochas Okorocha. His words, "my number one ambition is my boss, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and his success and that remains my number two and three. Whatever he says, we shall do"

The meetings afford the people the opportunity to make their inputs in the governance. Remember, how would people participate when they do not have access to their leaders.

In today's, meeting Mbaitoli people praised Gov. Okorocha for his free education programme, which has greatly ameliorated the suffering of the masses.

While agreeing the government cannot do everything at the same time, they, in affirmative, agreed that the present Government led by Owelle Rochas Okorocha cannot be compared with twelve years of PDP put together.

IMO WOMEN PROTEST AT INEC FOR NONE RELEASE OF OGUTA ELECTION

It was operation occupy INEC as Women numbering over two thousand said to have come from Oguta Local Government Area besieged Imo INEC office along Port-Harcourt Road, asking INEC to follow the path of justice by releasing Oguta result.

Despite their peaceful posture during the protest, not even gun shuts could stop the irate youth and women of Oguta as they fearlessly filed into the the compound of INEC office singing songs saying it was an injustice from the Presidency.

Speaking at the INEC office, Mrs. Esther Obialor, she wondered why Mr. President who promised free and fair election should be silent over none release of Oguta election that has been won and lost.

It will be recalled that elections have been conducted three times in Oguta and have three times been trouble ridden, thereby, stalling the local government's right of representation in the House of Assembly. The last of the controversy was generated from June 29, 2013 re-run constituency election, which was again declared inconclusive over an alleged call from the above. Meanwhile

The women further requested that the injustice to Oguta people can longer be tolerated saying they have suffered enough from injustice of PDP and Federal government.

They women called on INEC to release the result without further delay through their spokes person, Mrs. Obialor saying they can no longer wait for any rerun since it never came when expected saying the result already showed the clear winner.

As the time of filing this reportthere was no senior INEC official to respond or comment on the matter.

Okorocha defends his membership of APC, says PDP has marginalized Igbos

Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has defended his membership of the APC in far away Atlanta, USA, declaring that the future political fortunes of Ndigbo are better served in the new mega political party.
Imo State Gov. Owelle Rochas Okorocha listens to a presentation by the Imo community in Queens New York. On his right is Ugwumba Nnamdi Akamnonu, President Imo Association, USA, and Chief Obed Ejiogu, President of Igbo Association

Addressing Igbos of South-Eastern Nigeria origin at the 5th annual International convention of Imo State Congress of America (ISCA) from 2nd August to 5th August  2013 at the Embassy  Suites Hotelthe governor said  that the well-being of Ndigbo remains paramount in all his actions and would continue to take steps to assist Igbos to regain their rightful place in the political equation of Nigeria. Said he;
"APC remains the best vehicle to promote the interest of our people. PDP has marginalized the South East and has nothing to show for all its years in power".
He urged Ndigbo to embrace the APC because it guarantees equity and political opportunities denied them by the ruling party. He said the purported action of a faction of APGA is of little political consequence as the party lacks the national spread to ensure that Igbos make significant headway in the political leadership of the nation.  He described the APC as a national party made up of progressive elements determined to ensure equitable distribution of political offices to all tribes in the country.

As one of the tripod on which the country stands, said Governor Okorocha, the Igbos deserve to be properly placed in the Social, Economic and Political fortunes of Nigeria.
He urged all progressive South-Easterners to line up behind the new party(APC) and ensure that it produces the next leaders of the country at all levels ), adding that the Party will ensure a redress the injustices made by the PDP against  Ndigbo. Said he;
" Igbos have not produced the President, Vice President, Senate President, Speaker of the House or the Chief Justice of the Federation but I am confident under APC, one or more of these positions will come to the South East ”.
Speaking further at the event, Governor Okorocha urged Ndigbo to channel their energies and resources towards the development of their homeland and suggested a date for Nigerians in the diaspora to return home to contribute meaningfully to the development of their home State.  He pledged the commitment of his administration towards providing enabling environment to assist those willing to return home. In his words,
"my administration has embarked on projects that have significantly improved infrastructure in the state and has tackled the issue of security such that for the past six months the issue of kidnapping and other social vices have reduced significantly".

He challenged those really interested in tapping the potentials of the state to partner with his administration for mutual benefit and urged them to lend a hand to the less privileged in the society. Said he,
"while you are here enjoying the good life, have you wondered what is happening to your brothers and sisters back home? You should use your Influence and resources to make positive significant improvement in the lives of the poor back home".
Governor Okorocha  was later hosted to a gala night  at the newly commissioned  first ever Igbo Center in Atlanta.

Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, MFR, has hinted that Imo Diagnostic and Dialysis Centre will be ready before the end of 2013.

THE HEART OF A PRINCE,.... AT 49 WITH A VERY REMARKABLE 100 DAYS IN OFFICE!

“The altruistic tenderness of a man is highly determined by the compassionate weight of his heart on the scale of sincerity”.

Politically, today , many in pretence act-up compassion to buy love or political votes, capitalizing on the public hunger for a leader sensitive to the plights of the people. Lavishing vague promises in a near perfect act of concealing the monster within them as they frolic with the majority commoners to achieve their aim.

The leadership bridge-destroying attitude, which also is a society killing weapon of, “once at the top; liaising with the bottom becomes cumbersome”, gradually, is becoming a norm in our society. Today’s leaders, once at the top, prefer to burn the ladder they used in climbing up, forgetting that someday it will be needed to aide a heroic climb down, little wonder most of them end up crash landing!

To decide to lead a people requires understanding, attachment and interactions. Much more, it requires spiritual guidance. The ability to see far and take quick decisive steps, which involve all forms of leadership, be it the monarch or political form of leadership.

Though folktales may try to paint diverse impressions of the character of a monarch leader (a king or a prince), some wicked some kindhearted. But coming across a king or prince with an open heart for his people is rare. This makes this Mbeari-born Prince completely exceptional. He is a leader that carries the touch of the people everywhere he goes. Coming from a very challenging background, he has refused to forget his roots. Holding strong tenets that abide by humanitarian values, Prince Eze Madumere (His Excellency), the Deputy Governor Imo state, is gradually conveying us to the original definition of leadership and what it represents, just like his boss, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, is doing.

Unusual of a typical Nigerian politician, Eze Madumere’s 49th birthday was characterized with a mixture of emotions and compassion. Denying his status the opportunity of making a loud political statement by celebrating his birthday the political way. He preferred to share himself with the under-privileged ones at the Red Cross home in Owerri and inmates at the Owerri prison.
It was a day like no other. A day that staffs of the Office of the Governor attested to the leadership mercuriality of His Excellency Prince Eze Madumere, which they say has brought a redefining change to their welfare, confirmable through the resounding chorus of “yes it is true”, in affirmation to questions that sought clarity on the positive efforts of the Deputy Governor concerning their welfare. Everyone had something good to say about him, though it is common in this part of the world to face-praise and back-stab, but there was something really different about this case. One could feel the sincerity attached to the encomiums showered on our Prince.

True to his nature, we headed first to the Red Cross home, an experience that left a memorable edifice in the hearts of all present. His Excellency, the Prince, was virtually setting an example of leadership founded on love and care (Matthew 25:35-40).  On that fateful day, he supplied the children with so much comfort and well-being. Engaging what and whom he had around him in a fund raising spree for the Red Cross home, which ran into millions of naira, including donating a brand new ambulance bus, that some would ordinarily have used to achieve political points elsewhere. It really was emotion-electrifying to see the children cuddled round him in gratitude to a father who they must say has refused to forget them regardless his current position as the Deputy Governor!

Though, due to an unavoidable federal engagement assigned to him by His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha, his visitations was cut short to enable him catch a quick flight, but like George Elliot said: “what do we live for, if not to make life less difficult for each other”. Prince Eze Madumere’s long arm of good-will still got across the inmates at the Owerri prisons, a show of Great Spirit if one must say, especially putting into considerations that he was once incarcerated while fighting a just course for the good of Imo.

For me, as a writer, a Youth activist and an apostle of Owelle’s rescue drive, it is not about praise-singing Prince Eze Madumere, but more of acknowledging, appreciating and encouraging the good works of a man. As His Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha developmentally marches forward, it is only practicable for his Deputy to follow suit in order to keep up to the pace of his boss.

The Prince talks less  but certainly his heart radiates a people-ignited excitement that sees his essence of living activate with every ounce of energy the realization of a people’s expectation of Government!

In a stint of successive celebration galore, few days after his birthday, he attained 100 days in Office as a Deputy Governor. If it was marked, I wouldn’t know. That day was like any other working day for him. Congratulations kept coming, most of which laid emphasis on the humility of the Prince. Understanding his ingenuous reaction to his 100 days in Office, I believe he simply wanted to play down the mood of the moment in order to speed up his concentration on his duty as Imo state Deputy Governor.

All said and done, a hundred days in Office has gone by. The positive impact of the Prince speaks, and is still speaking, let us savor it while it last, as we also endeavor to pray for him. Long live the Prince! Long live Owelle! Long live Imo! Long live Nigeria!

IMO STATE GOVERNMENT DELIVERS ON MDG ...AS IMO STATE GOVERNMENT FLAGS-OFF CCT MDG PROGRAMME

Last week witnessed of possibilities and I Can Spirit of Rescue Mission Government led by Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the Governor of Imo State through the unwavering decision of the Government to deliver comprehensively on Millennium Development Goal Programme in Imo State.

Last Tuesday, July 9, 2013, Prince Eze Madumere,  Deputy Governor of Imo State led out during the flag-off  of Conditional Cash Transfer for the indigents in Imo State, which targets to empower One thousand, Eight Hundred and Eighty persons drawn mostly from rural areas of the State.

Those who witnessed the occasion, in their confessions, said that truly, the programme has met it's target audience in Imo State as it could be seen that the beneficiaries were indeed those who merited the the help. Speaking at the event, the Zonal Technical Officer of MDG Programme, South East Region, Mr. Chukwuemeka Okechukwu averred that Imo State in all ramifications is doing very well and extoll the the Governor of IMO State and the effort the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on MDG, Mrs Nma Nzeribe.

It is one thing for a government to come out mouthy and it is another thing to keep to its promise. It takes a well groomed leadership that is free of corruption to show resilience, sacrifice, prudence and above all eschew selfishness to delivering to the the led. Imo people are of the view that this is the first time they are not put in confused state over what MDG programmes are all about.

It is because of the intricacies of leadership that differentiates a mere politician to a leader. Imo Deputy Governor while addressing the full to the brim Ojukwu Centre Auditorium defined leadership as thus; 'leadership is about inspiring people, motivating them to greatness by making them realize their potentials through provision of the necessary potential unlocking dividends and also making environment conducive for both collective and individual goals, while observing the right of others to succeed'.

He further observed that Governor Rochas Okorocha remains a leader who has the passion about his vision to deliver and leave a lasting legacy for even the generations yet unborn. He however called on the beneficiaries to rise to the occasion and put their money to judicious use as he prayed for God's wisdom and prosperity in any thing they plough their money into. He further commended the effort of the SSA to the Governor on MDG, Hon. Mrs. Nma Nzeribe and SSA to the President on MDG for her resilience and partnership with IMO State to achieve the dream of impacting positively to the people of IMO State.

Meanwhile, in a fortnight, IMO State Government will begin to commission over sixty projects on Primary Health care facilities at the rural areas. IMO Deputy revealed that the secret of MDG in IMO State is as a result of the Community Government Council, which is the brainchild of Owelle Rochas Okorocha. He stated that people are the rural areas have been mobilized to take part and ensure that nobody short changes them

Like Mr. woke Anthony said, the success of the present administration on MDG can only be better appreciated when its achievement is put side by side with what it used to be in the past.

The high point of the event was the giving out of cheques of One Hundred Thousand Naira each to the deserving beneficiaries. It was a moment of tears of joy as Augusta Nkwocha shed tears and cried profusely saying she could not believe it was true. She thanked Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha and every other person who help bringing the programme to reality. On behalf of other beneficiaries, she promised they were going to put the fund to judicious use.

HOPE UZODINMA: A SOCIAL VIRUS AND HIS INSULTS ON GOVERNOR OKOROCHA

It is rather becoming worrisome to note that people who ordinarily should forever remain silent for their smelly deeds are still allowed to move around insulting the good people of IMO State.

Hope Uzodinma, we agree, can only be a chieftain of a party like PDP where rascals and social deviants alike are greatly appreciated for their criminality and other socially abnormal vices. What is Hope Uzodinma's antecedence?  Who is Hope Uzodinma as a person? What does he stand for?

Pondering over Hope Uzonma's insult on Governor Rochas Okorocha, one can only be left in doubt for the gut Uzodinma has suddenly garnered. A man who has remained a swine that will naturally remain filthy. Hope Uzodinma it was who visited Oweeri- Port Harcourt Road office INEC on the eve of Oguta Election where he spent close to three hours drawing whatever plans he and his PDP cohorts had to execute in concert with INEC officials. Again, it was the same Uzodinma who relocated to Oguta with his father in the vineyard of Impunity to unleash terror on the people of Oguta who was later to be joined by his brother Emeka Ihedioha who are joined by rigging interest. From the morning of that election till the morning when all the results were collated, these iniquitous men wreak havoc on the people of Oguta.

In Izombe, APGA agent was locked inside his house and was release after their angels of darkness had had a field day disenfranchising people of Izombe and allowing only their PDP brothers cast their votes. For the records, it was a Police DPO who welcomed Ihedioha, Hope Uzodinma and hosted them in his office before a take off for their impunity. Let me commend few military personnel who prevented the viruses of Ihedioha and his Uzdinma brother from spreading far beyond the areas the had a field day.

Uzodinma should deny that his brother from Egbema, Goodluck Opia was not the commander of a four lorry load of policemen drafted into Imo State from Abia State with lorry load of thugs who were later said to be ex militants in Osemoto? This is not the first time, we had witnessed such impunity play out. We saw it play out in a re-run election between Ike Ibe and Nnanna Igbokwe. They had their way. People were bullied and some were even on handcuff till the end of that election. This same Governor Okorocha took it in good fate.

The unfortunate thing is that people of Oguta were determined to choose their representative. They were tired of  PDP and their rascality.  Meanwhile, one of the National Dailies had already forewarned and revealed the dirty politics of PDP over Oguta. People were in the know of their game plans. This was an election where APGA candidate lost in his home. He lost woefully in his wards but what have got to say about that? The only sin APGA committed was to use die hards and people PDP could not afford to buy over as booth agents. That was the secret of the Oguta success story.

Coming to Uzodinma's ranting over Governor Okorocha, he should be warned unless he wants to face the wrath of Orlu people and the entire people of IMO State. Speaking against a man who is cleaning the mess PDP left in IMO State is taking more than he can chew.  We are aware of your certificate forgery matter still been challenged in the court. We are not unaware of Ndi Eze who are still leaking their wounds for the dirty manner you had dealt with them. We are aware of your 419 wisdom. The result in question had been written by INEC and APGA has hers just like your PDP where your party is in deficit of over two thousand votes.

Governor Okorocha remains the only Governor that has shown tolerance to the opposition in such a manner that every opposition is free throwing whatever trash they have on him. In the midst of all these, in less than two years, he dwarfed PDP twelve years of misrule. We have free education. We have massive infrastructural developments. We have youth friendly policies in IMO State. We have security in IMO State. Governor Okorocha has ended governance by abracadabra.

Hope Uzodinma and his co travelers should be reminded that the test of free people is their freedom to criticize their leaders without any fear or favour. Governor Okorocha has remained law abiding and calm  even amid Hope Uzodinma's childish misdemeanor and his PDP rascals' provocation; rather than joining issues with these people, Governor Okorocha is more enmeshed on delivering on his promises to the people of IMO State. Hope Uzodinma's nuisance value remains an issue to be discussed after every other important issues would have be properly treated but enough of his insults.
