COLLAPSED BUILDINGS: WE SAY NO TO QUACKS

On behalf of my leader, the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, I was in Oforola in Owerri west local government area of Imo State where we unfortunately lost three persons to collapsed building.

it is disheartening that our State could in less that four days experience four incidents of collapsed building. This has once again called to question the qualification of the building or Civil Engineers behind this substandard constructions and standard of materials used in the construction of these buildings.
While in Oforola, barefacedly, one could also notice abdication of responsibility on the part the town planners of the local government as those concerned through out the time of search and rescue operations were conspicuously absent. I hereby directed that all those involved be suspended.
Imo State Government shall not fail to ensure that those whose carelessness caused this unfortunate loss of innocent lives are brought to book.
I must commend the quick response of various government agencies with that of the vigilant and proactive youth of Oforola whose efforts saved six lives. I therefore commend Deputy Chief of Staff, Operations/Chairman, bureau of lands, Engr. Kingsley Uju, GM, OCDA, Dr. Mrs. Chika Nnajiofor, Adviser to the Governor on health, Dr. Edward Ihejirika, the Commissioner of Police for their rapid response.

AS MR. INTEGRITY TURNS 53

Except on exceptional occasions as this, Media handlers would prefer having others speak of the positive  attributes of their Principal. interestingly, it will be difficult to merely flip through a page of a personality  like Prince Eze Madumere whose story of humility, loyalty yet tough on getting around tough issues without comments. It is his result oriented attributes that has earned him the popular name, Mr. Fix it. Surely not in the negative sense as obtainable in the body politic.

Truly, the belief or the superstition that there is more to a name in most times has continued to reverberate in our society and beyond. Ezeakonobi literally means that King's palace is left void without a King. So, far Madumere has remained a success story. And by divine providence, The Prince is of Royalty as his father HRH, Eze Henry Anoruo Madumere is the Traditional Ruler of Achi-Mbieri.

Interestingly, cynics are at a loss as to  what could be the driving force of selfless Madumere. Praxeologist would rather categorize Prince Madumere a rare special breed. For Imo lieutenant Governor, as deduced from most of our free discussions, he has always said to me; "when I believe in a project , I show commitment, I become passionately devoted to see it succeed. It is with such love and passion that I obstinately guide and protect it. This is even more pronounced in my relationship with my Oga (Owelle Rochas Okorocha). One must be able to prove himself not just a beneficiary but also as an investor in any project you believe in."

Though about four years as a deputy governor, Prince Madumere is one of the most experienced deputy governors we have  in the polity owing to his background and having had the opportunity of confronting daunting tasks. Again, his experience in the corporate Americas has always been brought to bear. He worked  as an Area Manager, Channels Development Department of PepsiCo, a multinational firm for 13 years. This  is a testimony of Prince's ingenuity in business and management. He has also been a Management Consultant whose footprints are in the sands of time.

What many did not know was that Madumere's first academic love was Engineering before veering off for Administrative course  in Business Administration in San Jacinto College, University of Houston, Texas. He even made the cover of the University's Magazine representing an African budding Engineer before the change to Administrative course  following a scholarship from PepsiCo, having secured a job with them.

MADUMERE'S LEADERSHIP QUALITIES IN HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS -

Prince Eze Madumere, the Deputy Governor of Imo State is a man of many sides who can stand tall in all respects because of his accomplishments.
First of his many accomplishments, which remains the most important in human life is to first conquer self beyond the seeming limitations.
He is a man of vision who understands the intricacies and how to bring visions to reality. He also believes in making leaders. This he has done through strategic human resource management until latent endowments are developed. Those he made can stand anywhere and hold their heads high today in businesses, politics and other facets of human endeavour. Not all may not have received naira and kobo but they all worked away with a million dollar ideas beaming with hope.
In every task he has ever undertaken, he has not only scored beyond expectation but has left traces of excellence devoid of any personal enrichment. Little wonder his boss described him as Mr. incorruptible. Since he took over World Bank projects in Imo State, things are happening in the State. Rural Access Mobility Project that will complement Governor Okorocha's effort in developing rural communities with over 400 kilometers of Road is about to begin. Many may not know that FADAMA III (additional financing) is back to help out in development of Agriculture and Agribusiness in Imo State. NEWMAP is also re-invigorated for the task of recovering our environmentally polluted and eroded areas and many others.

IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR PREACHES AGAINST DIVISIVE UTTERANCES, HATE … BLAMES LEADERS ON NIGERIA’S RETROGRESSION IN NATIONHOOD

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has called on Nigerians to change their negative attitudes, which its impacts are divisive and retrogressive.

Prince Madumere made the call while fielding questions from the newsmen shortly after Presidential address of the Archbishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Revd Emmanuel Chukwuma at the occasion of the 16th Synod, which held at Christ Redemption Church, Enugu State last Friday.
He regretted Nigeria’s continued retrogression in the area of national cohesion and nationhood, the development he described as unfortunate.

He however attributed the sorry situation to the insincerity of some leaders who see position of authority as an opportunity to advance the course of hegemonic disposition of a group. He also took a swipe at some people whose stock in trade is to continue to advance their course of elusive State. He regretted that the people behind the dastardly situation are smiling to the banks from the donations of gullible citizens.

He therefore called on Nigerians to rededicate their faith in Nigerian project and see one another as one, asking adoption of all as brothers.

COME HOME AND INVEST, MADUMERE CHARGES IMOLITES

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has called on Imolites to come home and invest, saying that it is only way to reduce unemployment and poverty in any society.

Prince Madumere made the call yesterday while commissioning TEDMAG Agro Industry established by in Umuowa, Orlu local government area of Imo State established by Engr. Theodore Duru yesterday.

The Deputy Governor emphasized the effort of Governor Okorocha’s towards achieving an industrialised Imo through direct and indirect efforts. He said Governor Okorocha in his wisdom bought back Imo Resin Paint and Paper Industry, which have been remodeled for production of electrical appliances and other products.

He also enumerated other efforts of the Government in the area of infrastructural facilities and linking up various communities thereby engendering socio-economic growth in the State. He said; “the State government has done an average of 20 kilometers of Road in the every local government and with the Rural Access and Mobility Project, which will begin soon, we shall be doing about 400 kilometers of Road in the rural communities. Fadama III Additional financing is also a worthwhile project to compliment the effort of the Government in the area of agriculture, agro industry and agribusiness. I therefore commend my brother, Mr. Duru for his great effort and the great people of Umuowa for answering the call to look inward. This effort will not only reduce unemployment but will go a long way to solve the problem of poverty.”

Earlier in his address, Engr. Duru said the birth of his agro industry, which at the moment produces palm oil, palm kernel nuts, garri and starch was in support of Imo State and Federal government resolve to promote indigenous manufacturing industries to conserve scarce foreign exchange and to discourage urban drift.
