IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR TASKS WORKERS ON SAFETY MEASURES

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere joining the annual campaign for Safety and Health at Work has advised Workers to observe safety measures at work to avoid preventable occupational accidents and diseases, which might cause total incapacitation or loss of life.
The Deputy Governor’s advice was contained in a press release issued by his Special Assistant on media, Uche Onwuchekwa.
According to the release while Madumere hailed Nigerian workers in their tireless efforts in concert with their employers to ensuring re-stabilization of Nigeria’s economy, he cautioned them to ensure adherence to the necessary safety and health measures to avoid preventable painful injuries that could lead to loss of lives or total handicapped.
The number two citizen of Imo State decried the high scale of stress related illnesses suffered by Nigerian workers, which he attributed to economic volatility, work environment and condition of work. He also condemns self-inflicted injuries by some workers owing to lack of knowledge of the safety measures observable in the course of work or total refusal to observe them. He particularly frowned at the recklessness of some motorists and others in machinery-driven-work-environment who for undisclosed reasons refuse to adhere to safety measures.
While acknowledging occupational hazards associated with medical workers, which he said could be prevented by observing of critical safety measures in consonance with the world best practices.
Prince Madumere however hailed Governor Okorocha for his vision in providing conducive work environment for workers by constructing well-equipped offices to accommodate Imo civil servants especially some of them before his administration worked in congested offices with no chair, desks and working tools thereby eliciting distress and frustrations which are dangerous to their well-being.
He also extolled Governor Okorocha’s back to farm policy, which he said smart workers had utilized the opportunity to create other sources of income to cushion the effects of high cost of commodities. Prince Madumere further commended Governor Okorocha for free education, which he said has reduced financial burden from parents thereby saving them from worries of school fees.
Prince Madumere therefore urged employees to optimize occupational safety and health data available to plan for the safety of worker to ensure optimum productivity and reduction of occupational accidents and diseases, describing them as the real nation builders, the task he said is in tandem with the theme of 2017 World Day for Safety and Health at Work.

MADUMERE CONGRATULATES IMO GOV’S WIFE ON ACADEMIC FEAT, AWARD

His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Imo State felicitates with Her Excellency, the wife of the Governor of Imo State, Ugo Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha on the occasion of the completion of her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from the prestigious Imo State University Owerri.
Prince Madumere’s congratulatory message was contained in a press release issued and signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Uche Onwuchekwa.
The number two citizen of Imo State eulogized the wife of the Governor of Imo State describing her an Amazon of positive change whose intellectual sagacity can be appreciated by her application of wisdom and knowledge in every of her well thought out programmes to better the lots of the people.
He expressed no surprise in her preferred choice of pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Political Science with bias in International Relations, describing it as a step towards fostering greater development in the society.
He therefore congratulated Her Excellency, Mrs. Ugo Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha Ph.D. encouraging her to continue with her husband, the Father of Modern Imo and the visionary Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha in their lifestyle of giving hope to the hopeless and being parents to over ten thousand children.
Prince Madumere also congratulated Mrs. Ugo Nneoma Nkechinyere Okorocha Ph.D. on her well- deserved ‘Deborah’s Award’ conferred on her by Most Revd. B.C. Okoro, Bishop of Orlu Diocese of Anglican Communion at St. Banabas Anglican Church Okwudor, Njaba local Government Area of Imo State.

MADUMERE PAYS TRIBUTES TO LATE NWAFOR

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has condoled Daniel Madueke Nwafor and family over the passing of their lovely father, late Chief Dr. Martin Azunna Nwafor, an APC stalwart, who he described as a great man who was part of the founders of transformation agenda being enjoyed in the State due his great inputs in the polity.

Prince Madumere made this commendation on behalf of Governor Okorocha when he visited Nwafor family earlier today during the burial of late Pa Martin Nwafor at their country home in Umunoha in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.

Madumere who had in his entourage Chief Marcon Nlemigbo, Chief I.B. Okafor, Dr. Ifeanyi Ekenasi among others recalled his Association with Late Pa Nwafor who was in charge of his campaign during days of Action Alliance, the party on which platform he ran for Senate. He said late Pa Nwafor was a progressive of note who remained positive with hard work in every project he believed in whatever facet of life.

IMO GOV. SALUTES ALAGBAOSO ON CONSTITUENCY PROJECTS ...AS ALAGBASO DESCRIBES OKOROCHA AS BEST IMO GOVERNOR

The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has commended Hon. Asiwaju Jerry Alagbaoso, a member of House of Representatives, National Assembly for joining hands with his Rescue Government to impact on the lives of the people especially the people of his immediate constituency, Orlu-Orsu-Oru-East Federal Constituency.

Imo State Governor made this commendation through his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere yesterday during the commissioning of some of the projects attracted by Hon. Alagbaoso, which its grand ceremony held at Orsu local government Council Headquarters.

Prince Madumere who was accompanied by Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, Chief of Staff, Imo State Government House and Dr. Edward Ihejirika, Adviser to the Governor on Health, was conducted round the project sites by Asiwaju Jerry Alagbaso. The Deputy Governor described Alagbaoso as a great son of the Imo State who does not play politics of bitterness. He applauded him for borrowing a lead from a great leader like Owelle Rochas Okorocha who does not ever play politics with the welfare of his people.

IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR ADMONISHES CHRISTIANS ON SACRIFICES OF CHRIST

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has admonished Christians to emulate the unfathomable character of Jesus Christ who suffered and paid the ultimate sacrifice to save mankind at the cross of Calvary.

Prince Madumere made this admonition yesterday at his country home shortly after “Washing of Feet” ceremony on the eve of Good Friday remembrance in the Chapel of Praise Chapel of Anglican Communion in Achi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli local Government of Imo State.

In his explanation, he said Washing of Feet is one of the practical ways Jesus Christ demonstrated the importance of humility in the life of every Christian, calling on all to have equal regards for fellow human beings irrespective of class or social status. He also described washing of feet and Holy Communion as part of the solemn Christian spiritual ceremony Jesus Christ had urged Christians to perform in remembrance of Him.

PRINCE EZE MADUMERE CAMPUS FOOTBALL COMPETITION (PEMCFT): COMMITTEE HOLDS SEMINAR FOR LOCs ... RELEASES RULES FOR PARTICIPATING INSTITUTIONS

Barely two months after Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere inaugurated a Committee to superintend his proposed Imo annual inter-campus football tournament, the committee yesterday  hosted a seminar for the Local Organising Committees of the ready-to-participate campuses at the Conference Hall, Office of the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Government House, Owerri.

In his address, Prince Eze Madumere Football Competition Committee Chairman, Hon. Emeka Ajih said the responsibility of the committee is derived from its terms of reference, which he said is to design a blueprint for a sustainable annual football tournament; to come up with reliable rules and regulations to guide against abuse.

He revealed  that the  committee, among other things, has contacted relevant agencies and bodies especially the regulating ones. He said his committee has also activated the formation of  Local Organising Committees of the participating campuses with the submission of the list of the members headed by Directors of Sports and Games Masters.

On the seminar, he opined that the seminar was  necessary since it is meant to keep the participant abreast of the rules of the game and the pre-qualification processes for intending participating High Institutions.

GOVERNOR OKOROCHA CONDOLES SHAGAYA, TALLEN OVER LOSS OF LOVED ONES

 Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has condoled Senator John Shagaya over the unfortunate passing of his wife, Dame (Mrs.) Pauline Shagaya who was aged 71.

Governor Okorocha who registered his  condolences to the Jos born General at his country home yesterday through his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere described late Dame Shagaya as a great woman who stood by her husband all through, ensuring the family was bonded together  in love and care even while General Shagaya took on challenging patriotic services to the father land.

Prince Madumere described the relationship between Okorocha and Shagaya as that of father and son.

He admonished the Shagaya family to take solace in The Lord since late Dame Shagaya led a good Christian life and surely will be resting in the bosom of The Lord.

GOV. OKOROCHA CALLS ON NIGERIANS TO UPHOLD FAMILY VALUES

 The Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha yesterday called on Nigerians to return to positive Nigeria's traditional family values, decrying the spate of family problems attributable to holistic adoption of western cultures.

Governor Okorocha made this remark through his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere in Ibadan while fielding questions from the newsmen shortly after the wedding Church service between Omolola Akintola,the daughter of a fire brand Ibadan based eminent Jurist, Chief Adeniyi Akintola (SAN) and her heartthrob, Dr. Akinwande Onafalujo at Bodija Estate Baptist Church.

Delivering Governor Okorocha's message, Prince Madumere in his re-evaluation of family values attributed problems at homes to loss of touch of values and norms for peaceful and progressive home. He reminded his audience of the strategic place of family in national development since it is the bedrock of the society.
